Justice Department Announces Funding Opportunities for Tribal Communities

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced grants for comprehensive funding to federally-recognized American Indian and Alaska Native tribal governments and tribal consortia to support public safety, victim services, and crime prevention. These grants are being offered through nine competitive grant programs, or “purpose areas,” from which applicants can select any or all to allow the DOJ to consider the totality of a tribal nation’s public safety needs.
